Summarit is a web platform that summarizes news stories for the user based on their specific interests. It helps the users to be more informed in less time, get information that is relevant to them, and have quick access to the latest information. It also is a social platform that allows people with similar content interest to follow each other and see what everyone is reading, commenting on, and saving from the news content. Our long term vision for Summarit is to produce insights from Big Data for any news topic to help every industrial sector make quick decisions. We are incorporating cutting-edge technology through Artificial Intelligence to allow us to quickly deliver those valuable insights. The customers are the online news consumers. We have identified three different customer segments based on their behaviour when it comes to the monthly visiting frequency on news websites. Our target customer segments initially are those who visit news websites more than two times a month.
